Meet Flying Lotus
Experimental electronic music producer Flying Lotus got his start making beats for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim before going on to release his debut full-length 1983 in 2006. He has since released five additional studio albums including Los Angeles (2008), Cosmogramma (2010), Until the Quiet Comes (2012), You’re Dead! (2014), and Flamagra (2019), each of which was met with critical acclaim. In 2012, Flying Lotus began rapping under the persona Captain Murphy, keeping his identity hidden for several months until finally revealing himself a few weeks after dropping his first rap mixtape Duality later that year.
